The Beginning of Compassion – Shree Ghanshyamji Gaushala
Drought and rising fodder costs threaten hundreds of cows in Saurashtra.
- In the difficult days of 2012, when a drought-like situation had left the land dry and lifeless, our founder and visionary, Shri Pravinbhai Joshi, saw beyond the hardship.
- He felt deeply for the suffering animals and realized that the space we had could become a place of hope — a shelter to keep and feed some of the cows struggling to survive.
It all started with a small beginning — caring for just 18 cows in September 2012. Since then, the Trust has been in continuous service of Gaumata, nurturing and protecting them with unwavering devotion and love.
Today, Shree Ghanshyamji Gaushala stands as a symbol of that compassion — a facility spread over 8.3 acres, with two well-constructed sheds, a dedicated organic farm for cattle feed, a medical facility, and quarters for the caretakers. The Gaushala is now home to 65+ cows, both young and old, living in peace, care, and dignity.
